Have you heard that? Seems like loosing weight is the one physical challenge that most people are faced with on a day to day basis. Of the people you know how many of them do you believe can actually say to your face that they are happy with the weight that they are at and would not change it. Is this really the true challenge though or is this something that we have all come to accept because that is what the health industry tells us year after year. Diet book after diet book we are pretty much force fed the notion that most of us are overweight and we need their diet plan or diet food to help us achieve that ideal weight.
Here’s a question what is the ideal weight? Do you measure it based on how much you physically weigh or do you use a BMI Body Mass Index scale. Even then who is to say that 185 pounds on a person who is say 6 feet tall is the right weight. Do these general standards that are put out there every year for people to try and aspire to or maintain really put you in the “good weight range”.
You can take 10 people from all different backgrounds, ages and gender and say they all weigh the same. All ten of them could also be on a track and field team or they could all be couch potatoes! The point being we need to take a back the responsibility of our own health as individuals and not try an put our selves in to these categories of body types. We are each are own body type and there is no else out there with your genetic make up. We each have different responses to sleeping, eating and exercising and our bodies need a a variety of all these things. It is your health that depends on you and no one else in finding that right combination that will work for your body. Consider your health your own little science experiment that will last you a life time and if you get really good at you should have a long time to practice.
